Hi! My name is Suzanne Kruisdijk. I’m an artist and printmaker. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by art. Creating new things, sketching, designing, exploring: I cannot imagine my life without this creative process. I love the traditional craft. That is why I think making linoleum prints fits me so well and keeps fascinating. On this site you can see a recent overview of my work.

Prepping a bunch of my new envelopes to send orders. Usually I have craft paper ones but those were completely out of stock. The white looked so clean that I decided to cheer them up with some bigger prints. Perfect job for this Sunday afternoon! Hope you are enjoying your Easter weekend 💙

* Looking forward * is the prompt of todays MarchMeetTheMaker: day 31. Already the last day of this wonderful initiative by @joannehawker ! I’m really glad I joined this challenge, it has been a lot of fun and indeed at times challenging! The main reason I decided to join because I thought it would challenge me writing about my work in a clear, plain way. For some time already I was struggling on a specific text for my website about my creative process, but I got stuck in to many words and sideways. The prompts of Marchmeetthemaker have been really helpful and cut my writing block in realistic small pieces. I’ve tried to post most days early in the morning so I wouldn’t be influenced or getting in doubt by seeing other makers post first, to keep it close to my own work. Thank you all so much for following, your support and lovely comments! It has been a joy to meet new makers and see how each and every one was interpreting the challenge and prompts in their own personal way! In looking forward, I would certainly join another time. For other future plans… There are more ideas than time, I hope I can create more time to work on my linoleum adventure which I enjoy so much!

Day 25 of MarchMeetTheMaker and the prompt is “Starting point”. A good moment to share the newest linoleum piece I’m working on right now. When a new idea is born I draw directly on the linoleum block without sketching first, so an eraser is close by and often used until I’m happy with the drawing. After that I always start gouging the blanks and when this is finished I continue with the details. Saving the best for last 🙃
