Here’s the 12th print of my bird portraits series. This new portrait is inspired by the Barn swallow. It’s a reduction linoleum print with 11 colour layers. And I just love the colour palette of this one. Not only because I’m a fan of blue. By accidentally mixing too much ink for the first colour, there was enough ink left to mix the next color with. I have continued doing this with the following colors, so they all fit together truly beautifully. I do mix all colors myself and I always make a lot of color tests to match the combinations of colors together and figure out what happens with transparency. The challenge with this Barn swallow was to achieve the lovely shine.
