Happy and proud to show you this freshly finished reduction linoleum print! It’s the 15th one in my bird portrait series. For this Sparrow I printed 14 (!) colors. Although it is a somewhat sober color palette, and I am a huge color fan myself, I found this color scheme really challenging and interesting to make. To bring out the nuances required a lot of precision and attention. The last two colors I did print simultaneously in one layer. It’s a limited edition print run, for each color layer I carved more linoleum from the same block of linoleum. As a result, the linoleum block is reduced and not suitable anymore for reprinting. Each color has to dry for at least 24 hours between printing layers, depending on the weather and color.
