A new bird has landed! Meet my latest bird portrait: a kingfisher. I am over the moon showing you this lino print, I am so very happy and proud how this one turned out and personally think it is the prettiest I’ve made in this series so far. With its striking colors and beautiful details, this little bird had been on my wish list for quite a long time and was a joy to bring to life in linoleum printing. No fewer than 19 (!) colors have been printed layer by layer, using the reduction linocut technique. And with the final colour layer printed yesterday, the kingfisher is finally complete! It took quite a while to make, mixing all the colors, testing, carving & printing all the layers, drying time and all.
